Caribbean Tankini

Ohhhh righty now, this is what I'm talking about... ok let me give you a little bio on this creation... After doing the Summer Delight, I decided I would do another one... but as usual my mind started wondering. I opted to challenge myself and see if I could do a Tankini set... so off I went into my room of creativity and put on some music and proceeded to begin creating the Tankini. I worked up the design as I went along... looking at various crochet and knit magazines... as all of you know, I can't follow a pattern to save my life... so I continued flicking through various magazines to get some rough ideas. The top went rather smoothly, worked into the wee hours (no more music... just me and my yarn).. had a little problem with the bra part of the top, but got through it. Now its time to work the bottom and again checked a few more bikini patterns. I used Gayle Bunn's Stripe Bikini design (featured in Family Circle Easy Knitting Summer-Spring 06 issue and sold at Yarn Market) to assist me in my creation. For some unknown reason I am able to create a crochet wearable from pictures and the schematics than the instructions.. (so is it safe to say I am schematically inclined...?). Anywho, I worked-up the bottom which I ended-up doing in two pieces... and Finito... maybe not... I love to go back to a project and add a little something.

Very cute Sheila! Simply Soft is a worsted weight yarn. Won't that be a little hot?
