Fabrics - Sewing - Knitting

Happy Saturday All, the weather is beautiful today, a lovely 76 degrees. Perfect day for food shopping. Once a month I go food shopping with my sister & mom and our shopping excursion normally last a good 6 hours and boy-o-boy is it a funny, hungry and tiring filled day.
I started another knit project, which is a simple knit tank following the Ballet Tee with modifications, I decided to do 3" of ribbing this time around. I'm using Bernat baby Soft yarn in Lemonade.
I also ordered some yarn from Elann, their delivery time is fast. I ordered Rowan Classic Yarns Cashsoft in Weather grey. Its so soft, not sure what plans I have for it but evenutally I will and I stopped at Seaport Yarn and picked of 3 skeins of Perry Primrose.

I also did some fabric shopping, I'd plan on going to a huge Sav-a-thon I spotted while heading home one night, but dh diverted me and took me to his friend's fabric shop. I said to dh - your just telling me about this...? He just laughed and said if it means I can keep from driving all the way across town to that new Sav-a-thon... well yes...lol The Fabric store called Le Soleil Fabric Store - located on Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn had bolts and bolts of luscious fabric. I was looking for polyester/rayon/spandex blend fabrics and the local fabric shop I normally frequent didn't have the colors I wanted. Well Joel had what I wanted and I was like WoW!! Joel was really helpful and understood I wanted washable fabrics... so he directed me to a wall full of cotton/spandex fabrics. I fell in love with the brown/pink polyester so I had to get that.

Joel only sells fabric and a couple of days later I stopped at my local fabric store and picked up some patterns. I actually picked up a pattern to make a coat... so I need to look for some heavier material. (I have a gut feeling I may have purchased one of the patterns already....lol)
Lastly, I finished another skirt using a Navy Blue cotton blend material and purchased a 4" decorative trim and used it as a yoke.

Well that's all my show-n-tell, now I need to get to work...uhhh!! mom has arrived... time to go food shoppping...lol. Enjoy your weekend Dear Bloggers.

I need a 12 step for Elann.com! I'm such a fiber addict! Lovely yarn choices and the dress is just perfect! The yoke is a nice addition. Do you have a link to the pattern or the blog entry for the Ballet tee? I'd love to see what it's going to look like!

WOW you have a busy day today. Love all the fabric you got. I still need to put to use my 5 bins of fabric lol. Love the new outfit. Can't wait to see your shirt when you is done knitting. I would love to learn to knit one day. I think I will try loom knitting sometime this month. Have you tried loom knitting? I seen it on Knitty Gritty and it looks easy so far so good. But, again love your work. :)

Now that's a good shopping day. It looks like you got enough to keep you busy for a few days.

The top is going to look great, love the color. Are you going to make a skirt to go with it out of your fabric purchases?

Thanks again for the beautiful compliments. I have a few more skirt projects mainly for my daughter and looking to work up the new material I purchased.

@Fleurs: Merci du compliment sur la jupe… Je devais luckly avoir un chemisier au match la broderie.

@Mimi: I want to make a tank with cables and may need to get more yarn from Elann.
