I did it..!!! I was so envious of all the sock hoopla going on in Crochet & Knit Blogisphere, that I had to try it. The pattern is from Crochet Today Dec '06 issue (Snow Day Socks). Instead of using a thin yarn, I opted to work it up in Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn.. and then realized that I needed to save the remainder for the second one.. (I only had 3 balls of the Landscape Sugar 'n Cream yarn) and to make one sock took a ball and a half, I also altered the leg part so that could be the reason I used a lot of yarn... so I found a ball of Mainstay dk taupe yarn and finished it up. I am sooooo ecstatic about making A Sock...woohoooo!!... now on to the second one. Ohh and pardon the ashy/hairy leg...ugggh.
I can just imagine myself vacationing in Telluride, Colorado sporting this cute set, worked up in Red Heart multicolor yarn called Aspen. The colors are a beautiful blend of sage, tan, amber and slate blue. Oh... I can just see it now, hopping onto the gondola to explore the historic buildings, victorian homes, art galleries, bookstores, boutiques, and gourmet restaurants. As far as exploring the slopes... I'm not that adventurous.
Ladies I didn't forget about you... I created Funkalicious Apple Caps for women who love some pizazz. I did them in two different sizes, one with a 21" circumference and the other with a 15" circumference... take your pick. I am a woman with a love affair for hats... the Apple Cap works well for me especially on those mornings with inclement weather and wearing my hair out just won't do... until I get to work. I also created a funkalicious scarf to match, worked up in circles for that "I dare to be different mode".
Men its cold outside... So its hats off to you... two cool hats to keep you warm. There is the Apple
Cap... I'm sure you remember... back in the day when you were too cool to be Kool. The Apple Cap is the classic New York City streetwear, and can be stepped up with a sharp Overcoat definitely achieving that debonair look. Then there is the traditional snug brim cap... the all around cap to protect you from the cold elements. The Apple Cap is popular among celebrities and one in particular is Common the hip hop artist, it appears to be his trademark... always macking a hat. Please note, Common will be staring in a new movie called Smokin' Aces... be sure to check it out.
HAPPY NEW YEARS all and hope some of your Resolutions are in place. Well I have a few New Years Resolutions and one of them is to get back into home improvements. While many slept through New Years day, dh, db and I were busy on one of my home improvement projects (we like to call ourselves the DIY Crew). We have way too many radiators,... and have considered time and time again to cover all 11 of them. Well dh in his pursuit to keep me happy... located one, which was perfect for the kitchen, but it meant moving the existing breakfast table to the center of the kitchen (so it became a quasi island). Also, once the radiator cover was in place, we felt something was missing and I decided an additional breakfast table was in order. So on New Years Day we headed to Home Depot to purchase the necessary materials to make the table.. and spent most of the day measuring, cutting, sawing, gluing and nailing and presto a table was borne. Its perfect over the radiator and utilitarian, I love sitting there in the morning with my coffee and newspaper and enjoying the morning rays.... ahhh a project worth the yelling, joking and cussing that went on that day. So now its on to the next one which is in the diningroom and looks like a sore thumb...
