Pucci-esque, Fabric Candy & more

Carolyn had mentioned how she people watch and I to have been people watching and the inspiration is in abundance. Well Pucci Print is everywhere from wrap dresses to tunics and decided I needed to be daringly bold and feeling it was time to add a punch of color to my wardrobe - so I worked up this cute shift dress using Simplicity 2975 - Version A.

I went against the grain and used rayon/spandex instead of the requisite cotton. The fabric is from none other than the infamous Walmart....lol - for a $1.00 a yard. Initially, the plan was to use the fabric for a top to pair with navy blue slacks, but after the lunchtime people watching I decided a dress was in order. To make it wearable to the office I need to make a navy blue jacket, so I need to sift through my fabric stash and hope I come up with something....lol.

I so need to stop buying fabric, but the addiction is so strong...lol, and instead of enjoying my brown bag lunch, I took a quick ride downtown Brooklyn and visited a fabric store and walked out of there with these 2 fabrics, which is a cotton twill. I washed them last night and hung to dry and they dried quickly, which means they're ready for cutting...lalaaaa. I'm thinking about using them for Version E of Simplicity 2975 and pairing it with beige slacks... what do you think?

Also, after visiting Robin and checking out the video of her new toy... I've been checking out the Janome CoverPro 900CP...hmmmmm

But, before I cut any new fabric I need to finish the last garment for my June Capsule Collection... hmmm I wonder, if I get that Janome would it help with my last garment....lol.

Hmmmm. Sometimes I just can NOT read. I'm assuming Pucci is the beginning of some great designer's name right? You pronounce the c's like you would in cat right? I know, I know, get my mind out the gutter.

Oh, great fabrics by the way.

I love the new dress! A great navy jacket would make it perfect for work and without the jacket, the dress would be great for a girls night out! And I also love the new fabrics that followed you home...
