Pics, Inspiration Mags & More

Hello All!

I finally got pics of me wearing the red argyle vest. Can I say I just love the touch, the feel the comfort...hehe... Can't wait to wear it paired with a button up blouse & slacks.
Excuse the blurry pic

Ok... this past weekend felt like Christmas in September, I received an AWESOME package from Angelia. She sent me several Vogue Pattern magazines and Vogue Fabric swatch booklets, and handbag patterns, talk about inspiration galore. Of all the sewing mags I have, I did not have one Vogue pattern magazine nor a swatch booklet, so I have been devouring the mags late into the nite...lol I think I spend the better part of the night caressing the fabric swatches....haha!
THANK YOU ANGELIA!

On the knitting front, I fell in love with the sleeveless cabled vest featured in Verena Magazine, which I received from Andrea. There are several fabulous garments that I want to work up and selected the cabled vest first. I have since finished the ribbed section which was 34 rows....wheww! I'm using Needful's Kelly yarn, a chain-like yarn in beige/grey/sage mix and a cotton & acrylic blend. The yarn is a charm to work with, but fearing the cable chart part, but trying to hold on and not modify it.... well maybe just a little...lol. I did write out the chart in the hopes of going full throttle, but that fear is still lurking so I put it to the side and ...

worked up another vest using sweater knit that I purchased from fabric.com. I didn't realize it was super lightweight and was concerned about drooping neckline, so I made sure to serge all the seams and edges and then straight stitched by setting the length to 3.1. However, the back neckline was wobbly and did back darts for the first time. It came up a lil too short for my taste, but thinking it would work best with a pencil skirt. I used New Look 6735 (did I tell how much I love this pattern...hehe). I am going to pair this vest with a silk blouse that I have cut out in a nice berry color and scouring my patterns for a pencil skirt that I will likely do in black, unless something else strikes my fancy.

I finally........ finally finished the blanket & baby sweater set. Now that I know my niece is having a girl, I must do a sweater set in pink :)

Now off to decide whether to start another baby sweater or resume working on the cabled vest or start marking my cut pattern.... decision... decisions.
