New Look 6674

New Look 6674: Misses wrap dress with bodice and sleeve variations.

View C

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were easy in that I was able to make the dress more to my liking.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Initially I liked the simplicity of the dress, but as I began assembling the pieces, it became a process of elimination. I didn't want the front & back facings, the midriff bands, tie ends, skirt back and sleeves.

Fabric Used: Polyester Lycra

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I made several alterations that the dress was no longer a wrap dress, but a simple knit dress. I cut bias strips from the fashion fabric for the neckline. I omitted the midriff bands and just attached the skirt to the bodice and hemmed. I wanted this dress to work for the fall and used the sleeve pattern from New Look 6731, also altering the width for a fitted sleeve. I also omitted the back skirt (you ask... I did what!) there was just too much fabric for the skirt and I was able to use the front piece, which was wide enough to fit as a whole.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? The pattern is a simple pattern and would make it again with the same alterations and would recommend it to others looking for a simple wrap dress.

Beautiful job!!

By the way, of the 3 pants cut out, 1 is sewn up except for hem and waistband. I'm hoping to have sewing mojo tonight. I also cut my jacket out too. Hee hee =)

Thank You All for the Awesome compliments. After I'd sewn the dress minus the sleeves, I was a lil iffy about the dress, but once the dress was completed, I thought ok... I like it...Wooohoo!

My job is having an after-hour gathering on Thursday and would like to where then.

I wore the dress yesterday with a brown blazer and brown boots. Which worked perfect since the dress has 2 shades of brown in it. It was a hit in the office.... (**cheezing**)
