Sockina

I DID IT!!!! one sock nearly completed, which is a lot for me, since I never thought socks would be in my knitting scheme of things. I'm sending a huge THANK YOU to Andrea for introducing me to the world of sock knitting. I know its a lil too early to be giving shout-outs when I haven't completed the second one, but man-o-man this is a milestone for me....lol

What's really weird is I am an avid sock wearer and didn't give two thoughts about knitting my own socks. Wait a minute, I'm wrong. I did trrrrry to do a sock with DPN's and nearly caused myself bodily harm and decided socks would not be part of my knitting realm...lol

Prior to New York's cold spell, I take stock of my sock inventory and once the cold season is in full effect I go into overdrive sporting my loud looking socks, just imagine me looking all spiffy with my suit, headed for work and on my feet are loafers with colorful socks...lol. I have tapered it a little wherein I will where my high heel boots to work and prance around with those on for a while and thereafter its on... off with the boots and on with my loafers showcasing my loud socks.

In the process of knitting my first sock, I had to put in a few life lines to Andrea who is the perfect teacher. My brain cells starting tweaking when it was time to do the heel flap, but once I spoke to Andrea I was able to sail along. Secondly, I finally learned short rows, which make curves on straight-edged knitting projects... awesome. How could I forget the twisted rib, knitting 1 through back loop. I will say that I only did 1/2" of that when I should've done 1". But now I know better for the next pair...hehe. Sheesh, I really learned alot, I also understood the objective of the ssk, slip, slip, knit, which is used to create a left leaning decrease.
Anyways... I'm rambling here. what I really wanted to say is my Sock is warm and cozy and so much more comfortable knowing I made it myself.

Back to knitting my second sock....cya

I love your sock, it will be even better when you have a pair lol. I tried crocheting a sock and gave up when I got to the heal, it was really confusing for me, maybe I'll give it another try.

I would say "ROCK" on with your bad self but I think "SOCK" on would be more fitting!

Cute socks! I can't wait to see your other one!
