New Look 6892 Repeat

I couldn't help myself I am a pattern repeater I just had to make another New Look 6892. I wore the first one on Wednesday and talk about total bliss, that's what I was feeling while wearing it. The weather was perfect and the fabric just softly billowed as the breeze waltzed around me...lol. I received several compliments and one young lady asked to feel the fabric, which added fuel to the fire for making another one.
I fiddled through my stash and found some more sheer polyester fabric, the color is so rich, love the abstract lines, and semi-transparency allows for maximum airflow (being that we are experiencing warmer weather). Albeit, the 55 degree-like temperature in the office, wherein I have to turn on my portable heater to knock off the chill.
Briefly I deliberated on the best use of the fabric, at one end of the fabric there was more of the abstract lines. I played with the fabric, folding it in half one way, initially thinking I would just work with the minimal abstract portion, but folded it another way until I settled on majority of the abstract lines positioned at the bottom of the blouse. Again, I deliberated on whether to use the minimal print for the sleeves, finally decided the sleeves could use more of the print midway down the sleeves and it worked.
If you are looking for instant gratification, this blouse is perfect. There are just four pieces and it can be modified for short sleeves too. What I really like about this pattern are the elastic guide strips for the neck and sleeves, so that you have a better idea of how much gather is needed for the neckline and sleeves.

ummmm... I need to look deeper in my stash for more sheer fabric..........ummm

I love both versions of that top. The placement of the graphic print is really good and something I may not have considered when I make something, so I must keep that in mind.

Thank You ladies!

Also, there is a correction, there are only 3 pieces for this garment, making it a super quicky.

If you have some sheer fabric and not sure what to make with it... try this pattern.. you will definitely like it.

@ Kathy - I purchased the fabric from a small shop in Brooklhyn, New York called Fulton Fabric for $3.00/yd.

@ knitmachinequeen - Go for it and don't feel bad, I didn't get it on sale either...lol, but after seeing several of the tops in the Loft for $39.99, I said what the heck I'd rather spend $3.49 than $39.99.

@ Sue - In the past I wouldn't have noticed the direction of the print, but as of late, I've been mindful of it.
