My sewing buddy Andrea sent me McCalls 5978 and I am so itching to start it. Thanks Again Andrea!!!
Cardigans are so in this season (matter fact, the cardigan is a timeless classic), with its versatility to belt it with tailored slacks or a skirt, layer it over a sheath dress, or go with a funky print to wear with jeans... the possibilities are endless. That's why cardigans are so easy to work into your wardrobe and I like what they are doing this season, incorporating.... ruffles, leather, buckles, novelty trims...
So far I have 3 fabrics to make a cardigan collection:
- Left is a medium weight knit pink/grey argyle, but would like to do the sleeves in a solid pink or a solid grey knit..
Inspired by Merona Red Argyle
- Middle is a winter white ponte knit, thinking a black trim would work
Inspired by Isaac Mizrahi
- Left is a textured acrylic/nylon/spandex in lilac/brown/grey.
Inspired by Jones New York
This week I will look for trims to incorporate into my cardigans to add a lil twist. Also, I would like to find ribbed knit for the cuff and neckband and definitely think a lil more about doing a split cuff, I really... really like the cardigan with the sateen bows along the cuff...
Off to ponder some more.
