I Was Getting My DVF Game On w/ B4976

Butterick 4976: Dress is below mid-knee and has semi-fitted bodice, slightly flared skirt, side zipper, attached contrast or self fabric sash with long ties and seven-eighths or long sleeves.

I'm calling Ms. DVF to let her know I got her game down pact ... ok she didn't pick-up.... she must be busy, but still ....ummph

Pattern Sizing: 8-22. My pattern size is normally 14 or 16 depending on the design of the garment. After reading a few PR reviews, I went with the 12.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I hit the nail on the head....haha

I know Ms. DVF saw the call back number... ummph

Were the instructions easy to follow? I sailed through the instructions and was able to do the dress in one day... now that's called instant gratification.

Fabric Used: Brown/Black Abstract Polyester/Lycra

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I did my usual MO... stay stitch the neckline and shoulders and serged all the seams, serged skirt & sleeve edges and folded to inside and final stitched. I went down a size and really think the next time around I will do a 10 bodice and 12 skirt. I shortened the skirt and sleeves. Totally omitted the zipper, no need when using poly/lycra.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? After this post, I will be digging in my stash for more fabric. I need a few... I totally love this dress. I highly recommend this dress and did I say I love this dress.

Conclusion: I wore the dress today and its comfortable, perfect and did I say I love this dress.

You should love this dress because it's beautiful! But did you put the zipper in the side or did you omit that because the dress is made from a knit?

I made that pattern before and also eliminated the zipper. I've got to dig mine out for the fall. Love it in your animal print!
