ETA: Monday Morning..... I still look tired and my lining in my skirt is making a lot of swishing sounds.. or its it my jacket...lol
New Look 6915 with Simplcity 2475. The skirt was worked up almost 2 weeks ago and finally have a top for it since I didn't want to wear a black top.
Pattern Description: Misses skirt in two lengths with individual pieces given for slim, average, and curvy fit
with a contoured waistband sitting below the waist. Also with pocket flap option and two back kick pleats
Pattern Sizing: 6-14
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, but I made sure to mark the various pieces to ensure I matched the corresponding pieces. I was nervous about doing the kick pleat and to my surprise the instructions were thorough providing easy construction.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really like the kick pleat detail
Fabric Used: poly/wool blend
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: There was a bit of ease and initially removed 1/4" from the back side panels, but had to remove additional excess fabric after another fitting. Also cut a few inches from the hem
Would you sew it again? I would like to make another one with constrasting stitching
Conclusion: A lovely pencil skirt that would fit perfectly in any wardrobe.
