What I've Been Up To...

First and foremost I have an APB posted for a suspected sewing mojo on the run, the fugitive is likely hiding in another sewist's home and I must warn you that if you are aiding and abetting a fugitive, you will be charged in connection with same....LOL

My sewing mojo has run amok and has left me high and dry.  The only sewing related thing I've done in 2 weeks is a baby blanket that is still in the making.   Also, with my sewing mojo on the run, it has caused me a major set back in that September 1st was 9 months of not buying any clothes. With the onset of not having anything new to wear and exhuasted from searching for my sewing mojo I fell prey to store vultures... yes, the sales clerk ambushed me into the store and I became a victim of their purchasing assaults.  I ended up walking out of the store some what disheveled, a bag filled with 3 pairs of slacks, 3 sweaters and 3 cardigans... shaking my head, but  feeling wickedly satisfied with something new.  For some time now I have  cut & marked Simplicity 2700 pants and Butterick 5147 jacket, but unable to find my sewing mojo to sew them up.

In an attempt to do something I started on a baby blanket and for the most part its nearly completed just need a special touch and thinking of adding an applique or two.  The fabric is from Joann's, a soft flannel perfect for a baby, which I caught on sale last year for $1.49/yd.  I'd purchased 2 yards in various baby/child friendly prints and for this blanket cut it in half and with wrong side together added the hot pink quilt binding .

With the baby blanket in UFO mode and my sewing mojo still on the run, my attention was diverted to more cards and this one was for my mom.  The cardstock is from Joann's labeled Golden Swirl, with the swirly bling I used mininal embellishments, just a ribbon, cut a frame, EK swirly card punch for the bottom & stamped Happy Birthday.... she loves it!

To date, I have not heard from nor seen my sewing mojo and decided some more crafting was in order and made some peppermint scented body butter (3 months of not buying lotion... yeah!! the family loves it), eucalyptus scented soap,  peppermint oil for our hair & lemon-grapefruit message oil.

The peppermint hair oil is perfect for my dry scalp and dandruff and love the fact that it minimizes that awful itching.  My concotion is a mix of grapeseed oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, evoo & peppermint oil which leaves my scalp energized.   The lemon-grapefruit message oil with a little heat melts away a day worth of stress... sorry only a day's worth...lol  The body butter is a mix of shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado oil, apricot oil, aloe vera gel & peppermint and provides such a refreshing feeling.

So while my sewing mojo remains on the run... I am off to make a b-day card for my nephew and until then Everyone have a Great Week.

Sewing Mojo is alive and well at my house. I wondered when Sewing Mojo appeared mysteriously about a week and a half ago. Should I just kick her out? How about in a couple of weeks when we move to our new home?

PS: Sewing Mojo has been very helpful here. Seven pairs of boxer shorts for my DS are more than half-way done.

At least you're still creating! The card for your mother is gorgeous! I'm looking into making my own body care stuff and the things you made sound wonderful! :)

I agree with Angela, at least you are creating something while your mojo is running low for sewing. The blanket is so cute and your that fragrance sounds like it smells great.

Well, your sewing mojo may be gone, but the baby blanket is too cute, the bday card is amazing and your body care things sound wonderful. You're safe. Your sewing mojo will return and your machines will smoke. In the meantime, shopping sounds like fun!

I love those recipes. The peppermint hair treat sound divine! My mojo has been MIA for sometime as well. But I think I've located it. Check out Shannon's place-http://mushywear.blogspot.com. Your mojo might be hiding there as well.

I can certainly relate Sheila. My mojo has a trapdoor and slips through it quite often. I find myself daydreaming about knitting more than I knit. LOL!
I love the soaps and lotions that you've put together. Nothing wrong with multiple interest. ;)

Girl give yourself a break every now and then. You were on a roll there for awhile. You are busy creating other things so no harm done there. This is not to say I don't miss seeing your new creations.
