Headed to LV

for a week of fun...

I had grandoise plans of sewing for this vacation, but as usual I became distracted and the only thing I was able to sew were 2 pjs...lol  Luckily, I have several garments that I've sewn previously that will work well for the temps in LV.

I used New Look 6983 for the pants & McCalls 5978 for the tops... quick and easy garments.  Decided to make pjs at the last minute and too lazy to look for a pj pattern and being that NL6983 was already cut, I used that pattern and increased the leg width for my pjs.

The very first pair I made I totally messed up while trying to watch tv....uggh but immediately started on the second pair minus the tv ;)

I used a sage lightweight sweater knit I purchased during PR in Philly

The 3rd set, pants in a funky print in cotton/spandex and the top in a brown featherweight knit.

I decided to just serge the hemline of the pants and tops, after taking stock of some of my old pjs... Presto no hemming.  To ensure the neckline and armholes did not become distorted I used Fusible Bias Cut Easy-KnitTape gifted to me by Ms. Omega... Thank You Dear...

and WoW! it worked like a charm.... no warping of the necklines & armholes. I will definitely stock up on this product, which can be purchased from The Sewing Workshop, Vogue Fabrics & Fabric.com

Off to finish packing... until then have an Awesome Week!
