New Look 6067

New Look 6067: Pleated dress in two lengths with sleeve and belt options. I was drawn to this pattern because of the pleating & the belt.

I worked up Version D, lengthened the bodice by an 1", modified the 3/4 sleeve pattern to a long sleeve, elongated the pleats on the skirt so that tulip effect of the pleats would not add bulk to my stomach pouch and lastly cut off 3" from the hem line.

The garment went together easily and was able to finish most of the dress in one day.

Being that I used a double knit and the neckline is wide, I don't think a zipper was necessary, but I went with one anyway.

The fabric is a double knit with a black background with blue print, the bodice is not lined and serged all seams. For the neckline, I also serged & folded edge to the inside and straight stitched.

With the fabric being a print the pleats became lost in the dress, but I definitely like the lil shaping that it provides. However, the long sleeves did not work well with the dress and ended up shortening them. Also, I have not completed the belt and ended up grabbing one from my closest.

Major hair going on today...So glad I lengthened the pleats, if I hadn't they would've been sitting just below the belt adding humph to my stomach pouch.

Photographer playing with color enhancement... even tried patting my hair down...

My hair is totally big today... regardless of what I do..

By the time I got to work, I removed the belt and changed into shoe boots... but my hair is still big...lol

Conclusion: cute dress, comfortable and would definitely make it again.

Thanks ladies. I need another NL6067 its so comfortable.

@ Carolyn, the fabric was purchased at Virgo Fabrics during the summer off of their remanant rack for a $1.00/yd. and it was just the right yardage 1-7/8.

I bought this pattern for the same reasons you did. I have yet to make it. I love the look of the dress on you. Thanks for tip on lengthening darts to cover stomach pouch; I need that myself. Lovely knit fabric. Even though pleats are not so obvious it does give this dress great shaping.

As we say, 'it's a goer'. I know the detail is kinda lost because of the print, it does however look great on you. The design is a good shape on you.
