Wednesday Wardrobe Wishlist

Happy Wednesday Everyone and hoping your week is going well..

I'm not complaining, but its 60 degrees in New York today and tomorrow 65 degrees… can we say... weird weather. With that said, this weird weather is causing my crocuses and daffodils to bloom too early… which will result in little to no blooming in Spring...uggh

Ok, enough of the meteorological babble jabble and on to what’s on my Wardrobe Wishlist this week.

Sheer Blouses:

Which would be perfect paired with a leather pencil skirt

There are an abundance of patterns that would work in achieving that look:

However, one must be very careful sporting a sheer blouse.  I have seen it numerous times in my office, especially during the summer, women wearing sheer blouses with flesh tone bras... umm yeah..

Corporette thinks a good quality camisole (black or white) underneath is the appropriate way to wear a sheer blouse.. Read more...

Wednesday Question... do you wear sheer blouses to the office?

Thanks ladies, I have worn sheer blouses and always worn a cami underneath it. However, I am constantly visually impaired everytime I see a woman wearing a sheer blouse and their bra very visible.

I like this look too. I finally got off my rear and bought some camis, so I should be good to go when I start sewing regularly again.

Thanks Adelaide, I recently purchased several... I like wearing them with my cardigans.

I like your new blog heading. Sheer tops are cute when you wear the appropriate garment underneath. So not business appropriate to just wear a bra under a sheer top!

I don't own a sheer blouse, but I do have a sweater that kind of see thru and I wear a camp under it at work.

I don't think I'd wear that sheer a blouse to work. We don't even have dress down Fridays at my work.

I had to come out of lurking to say that I love, love, love the new header.

Re the sheer shirt and the office -- I'm with you ... ummm yeah ...

I wouldn't do it although my work environment is relaxed.

Ummmm hell no! All that boobage would definitely scare people and stop traffic! Personally I only like sheer blouses with camis...otherwise you look like you're headed to the club to me!

Thanks ladies for your comments.

Hi Nicky and thanks for unlurking

I finally purchased a domain name (www.sheilaz-ctk.com) and decided a new header was needed.

Hoping that I can get started on my wishlist garments this weekend.

I love your wishlist. In my workplace, the answer is only wear a sheer blouse if you have an underneath layer. Congrats on your new look website too. It's looking great.

Nice new look to your blog! um, on the sheer blouse question-I taught school and I would have never worn a sheer blouse, even with a cami. There were enough distractions without me adding to the mix :-)

I love the idea of sheer blouses and I've made two, but never worn them, I don't know why. I love the idea of teaming one with a leather pencil skirt. I'd make a matching cami in a fine knit. One of my colleagues bought some camis from a party plan lingerie company and they are designed with a shelf bra (like a training top I guess) so that you don't have to wear a bra. That would give a nice clean line without a whole lot of tangled straps.

Thanks ladies,
I've purchased a few camisoles with the shelf bras, but spent most of my day tugging on the shelf bra because it kept creeping up. Then thought I was being creative and cut the shelf bra out only for the neckline curl weirdly.

I agree--a camisole is a must. I've seen the bra thing, too...sigh. Love the new look!

I would always go the cami and if possible colour matched to the top looks cute as it intensifies the colour.

I love sheer blouses. I'm working on one now, but I ALWAYS wear a cami.
