Whimsical Butterick 6065

Whimsical print is something that is not in abundance in my wardrobe.  I am more of an abstract gal, for me abstract is all about colors, distorted lines and textures, than less say an object, like a  flower.  Yeah... yeah some believe abstract art is formless or should I say non-representational, but I beg to differ.  Just because it doesn't jump out and declare I am she, hear me roar, I believe that abstract art is, with its eclectic mix of colors, textures and distorted lines a scene of some sort, just exaggerated and yes representational. Ok.. I will stop at that....

However, last year I dabbled in florals and it added fun and whimsy to my outfits and even pulled out the handful of floral garments that I relegated to the attic. So, this year I am adding bold floral prints to my wardrobe.  I have several cuts of floral print fabrics, but was not sure what to make with them, but this year I am going to retrieve them from the fabric dungeon & sew them up and go floral postal...lol  and with that...

for another remake of Butterick 6065 I used a beautiful floral poly-lycra print that I'd purchased at Virgo Fabrics. There was one end with a large floral print and the reminder of the fabric solid blue with a smattering of lil flowers, enough to do another B6065.

Floral prints were trending last year, but this year it has hit an all time high and my plan is to rock it and hoping that the whimsy of flowers and a soft structured garment will provide a polished yet effortless look for work and not just for play.

So, off I go, back to the fabric dungeon to see what else I can find and sew.

Until then, Have a Great Week.
