30 Min. DIY

Happy Friday ! ! !  I had a long week and and now its Friday... and as I sit and type this post... my mind is singing...

                                         ....... Friday night.......
                                         Party hoppin', feelin right
                                         Booties shakin', all around
Pump that jam, while I'm gettin' down

Ok... onto my 30 Min. DIY.

I normally prepare my clothes the nite before to allow time in the morning to just do whatever grabs my fancy.  Last nite I didn't do any preparing just tinkered around in my sewing room that yield nothing.  Fast forward to the am... what am I going to wear ... mmm..  It's Friday & and half -day to boot, so jeans it will be, for a  top, a tank will do and I need a topper... mmmm.

The topper of choice was a cardigan and pulled out an old Loft cotton-blend mini geo-print woven back cardigan... sheesh that's a mouth full.  I also have it in black and decided this one would be perfect for an end of summer refashion.  Folded the cardi in half, cut the sleeves 3" from the armholes and scavenged the wrist ribbing for reattaching to the shortened sleeve.

Pinned the wrist ribbing to the shortened sleeve with right sides together and serged.  As you can see I have no qualms with using contrasting serger thread.

Flip to the right side and top stitched the seam allowance flat.

Done in 30 mins.

Assess It, Cut It, Sew It & Rock It.

Until then

Wow - that looks great, and you're FEARLESS!

Thank you Sister. It's one of those garments I felt would work better as a short sleeve cardigan than long and with a lil refashion would get more play in the summer than fall.
