Will we have a cooler summer...

... with all the back-to-back snow storms the NE has been hit with ...

With Spring only 2 weeks away, my lawn is buried under several feet of snow and wondering what would it take before I see grass sprouts or how long it will take to recover from the impending saturation of water.

I love winter, love the frigid temps, truly I do, but all the snow is taking a toll.
My hair is tired of hats, my feet are tired of socks & snow boots,
my hands are rough from the cold air, and my shoulders are weary from bulky coats... sigh

However, there is beauty in all of this...

... intense sunlight....

....snow laden trees...

...ombre snow along the roadside...
....parks abandoned and left untouched... beautiful...

One thing is for sure the longer it takes the sun to evaporate soil moisture, the longer it takes to heat up the air... so I guess a cool summer it will be.

Until then,
Have a Great Weekend.

The pictures are great. Seeing all the beautiful scenery is nice, living in it is different, and makes it hard to see the beauty for what it really is when you are weary. I say to you...stay strong my fellow sewing enthusiast, because before long, you will be consoling me in my weariness of simmering summer days and humid sticky nights.

Thanks Andrea. I've only been to Texas once, (30 years ago) in the dead of summer and thought I was going to have a heat stroke. Spent a good deal of time indoors. Hence, I didn't get to enjoy the neighboring areas.

Gorgeous, but I feel your pain. One week of skiing in Colorado is all I can handle of those layers. But I also hate the humidity of the armpit of America, known as Mobile, AL....we all have our weather to bear!

Due to some warmer temps, most of the snow around here has melted. Before that, though, we had a storm that coated the snow with a thick layer of ice. While it was slippery, it was SOOO beautiful. The snow looked like a frozen pond.

I'm definitely ready for warm weather - it's my thing. =) Snow and ice are pretty to look at, but I'll take 80+ F any day.

I think I was suffering more from snow blues. Winter is my favorite season, however, the snow got the best of me.
