Then & Now w/ McCalls 6744

Happy Monday All and hoping those who are experiencing intense heat in their area are staying cool.

To combat the heat I donned a made-back-when dress McCalls 6744.  I made three them and they are my go-to summer dresses over the last 2 years.

One can't go wrong with a comfortable dress that can be thrown on, accessorized, worn with heels or flats and out the door.

Now 2015

Again, like the others, I did a lil refashion and gathered the sleeves (putting in a casing and inserting 1/2" elastic, then gathered) The cotton knit is perfect for combating today's heat & humidity and also the lil refashion gave the dress a new life.
With the Office building doing an Electric Load Curtailment ... I did not need my uniform jacket a/k/a blazer to ward off the air condition artic temps, but I have it with me just in case.

Until then,
Have a Great Week ! !

The dress color itself shouts coolness to me.

Thank you RatRace. Yes, it was perfect for the sweltering temps yesterday and the office. Especially in New York's broiling train station. However, I did have to don my blazer on the train that was frigid.

What a great idea with the sleeves! Here in Florida it's hot 11-1/2 months of the year! You look great in the dress too!
