Happy Friday

Hello All and hoping Your Friday is going well.   Its been a minute since I last posted and just wanted to stop in and say HAPPY  F.R.I.D.A.Y.   !!!

There's not a lot of sewing going on for myself, but I have definitely been keeping busy, sewing for others.  Sewing for others is really challenging, but at the same time fun and an awesome way to sharpen my sewing skills.

Also wanted to share a simple top that I made last year that's definitely worth its pattern weight...lol.  New Look 6384, simply easy and works well throughout the year.

Today, I paired it with a denim jacket & jeans for Jean Friday... perfect.

I've worn it numerous times and was totally surprised that I have yet to make more.

Well that is going to change, I started making a list of garments that I've made, really like, worn too many times to count and need to repeat.

I use my cell phone calendar for making notes of a variety of things, but oddly not for sewing related stuff, instead I have a bunch of post it notes squashed in my wallet and on my home desk.     A month ago, I became inspired by two young ladies that I met via periscope (my handle). One is Wendy @ Wendy by Designs and the other young lady is Karen @ Nikai Designs.  They make beautiful fauxdoris a/k/a planners/journals and I immediately thought back to my old journals and an idea was renewed.

I love paper crafting and what better way to dabble in my cardstock stash and create an up-to-date journal for myself.    Totally lovin' the renewed concept and it has become so utilitarian.  Thinking back, I became caught up in using my cell phone for note making and/or using post-it notes.  Don't get me wrong they both work, but there is something about getting back into the whole journal mode.  More importantly, it helps me keep my multitude of to-dos in one place.

Here are a few that I've made for others... they are fun to make, look at and perfect for journelling.  The great thing about it is the inserts can be swapped out after you have filled it up or you can add more inserts... totally a happy thing.

If you are not familiar with fauxdori... here is a variety of videos via Youtube.

Until then,
Have a great Weekend !

Hi Sheila. I saw your comment about Picasa and wanted to share this with you:

http://googlephotos.blogspot.com/2016/02/moving-on-from-picasa.html

Google is ending support for Picasa and the Picasa desktop editing app. I've used both for years and am not happy about the change. Hopefully the change will be seamless and create a better experience as Google claims. =)
