New Look 6826 Misses Jumper

The dress was made for my daughter and although she didn't like the pockets, she did like the simplicity of it and that it makes for a great transitional piece. The instructions were easy to follow and made easier using a Stretch Denim fabric.
I did Version B
The modifications were minimal wherein the pattern called for a lining and I did an underlining instead. Since the fabric had a lil stretch, using polyester for the underlining I cut it on the bias to ensure a lil give and remembering an article from Be Sew Stylish on cutting fabric on the diagonal. I also omitted the patch pockets.

The darts are a lil wonky, but luckily, when she tried it on the wonkiness appeared minimal. Also, she didn't care for the inverted pleat, so I reversed the fold of the fabric.
For the neckline, I did one fold, ironed it and then another fold and final stitched. I cut a size 12 following my daughter measurements, but ended up removing 1/2" from the side seams.
Only having a 22" black zipper I shortened it to 12".
The dress length was too long for her liking and of course I had to shorten the length by 4"
My daughter loves it and envisioning another one. The dress looks great on her and with that she mentioned that she needs to borrow my boots to make the outfit complete...lol Will update the pic when she wears it.

This weekend, I'd plan to work up this awesome faux leather emobroidered fabric, but my daughter was not trying to hear that...lol

I really like your daughter's jumper and glad that she's happy with it.
@ Carolyn, I purchased the faux leather from a little fabric shop in downtown Brooklyn. The name escapes me, but its the only fabric store left on Bridge Street. I stopped at the store two weeks ago when they rolled in the bolt and actually left the store, thinking the price was too much. But after seeing it online for
$23/yd, I ran back and purchased it at $13/yd.
I'll be waiting also to see that fab leather done up!!!
Keep up the good work!
